PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

PROJECT DIRECTOR, HHS OFFICE OF MINORITY HEALTH RESOURCE CENTER

March 2020 - Present

Responsible for oversight of project operations, administration, strategic planning, staff supervision and performance management. Maintained continuous alignment of program scope with strategic objectives and make recommendations to modify programs to enhance effectiveness, and insured appropriate project risk assessments, management, and mitigation plans.

DEPUTY PROJECT DIRECTOR, HHS OFFICE OF MINORITY HEALTH RESOURCE CENTER

October 2018 - March 2020

Responsible for oversight of all project operations, staff supervision and performance management, and project management. Oversee financial activities, including budget development, monitoring, and reporting. Directly managed all Communications and Information Technology staff, and provide direction for content strategy, and innovative ideas to increase engagement across all social and digital channels. I directed strategy and spearheaded the launch of a government website redesign project, increasing organic visits by 125%.

COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER, HHS OFFICE OF MINORITY HEALTH RESOURCE CENTER

September 2017 - September 2018

Spearheaded planning, conceptualization, development and execution of communications strategies and tactics. Managed the Communications Team and identified performance metrics for all campaigns including: print, website development, email marketing, Google Ad Words, social media integration and event management. Responsible for developing strategic an integrated communication plans to analyze and document objectives, target audiences, strategy and positioning, key messages and specific tactical recommendations for senior leadership.​ Led a new email marketing campaign which increased subscriber size by 325% through deployment of new web capture tools, and created and implemented a new social and digital media strategy that yielded an increase in  social media engagement (245%), and e-news subscribers (195%).

DIRECTOR OF PROGRAMS, CHILDREN'S NATIONAL MEDICAL CENTER | SAFE KIDS WORLDWIDE

December 2012 - September 2017

Responsible for designing, implementing and managing corporate sponsored programs. Worked directly with the Chief Program Officer on strategic planning, developing executive level internal communication and supervision of staff and subcontractors. Responsible for leading grant-making activities, oversaw evaluation process, monitored compliance, assured the proper distribution of approved grants and analyzed status of funded projects for leadership and corporate sponsors. Developed and implemented successful annual program plans that included strategies and goals for acquiring, renewing and upgrading support from corporate sponsors.

INJURY PREVENTION COORDINATOR, DELL CHILDREN'S MEDICAL CENTER OF CENTRAL TEXAS | SAFE KIDS AUSTIN

October 2005 - December 2012

Served as Coordinator for a grass-roots coalition led by a Level 1 pediatric trauma center that serviced a 46-county region in Central Texas. Provided direct oversight of more than 45 organizations implementing programs and executing special projects in identified communities. Managed day to day operations, managing 45+ volunteers, office staff, and numerous vendors. Developed and launched a mass media campaign to educate communities about important child safety issues that garnered an average monthly reach of more than 1.6 million. Served as the organization’s spokesperson to the media and increased earned media value and reach by establishing a permanent weekly segment with the local FOX News affiliate.
